Rugby, Warwickshire

Project - Demolition & Site Clearance

A demolition of a derelict 3 storey house and garage in Rugby, Warwickshire. The site and inside the buildings had vast amounts of waste and small areas of asbestos that needed to be cleared prior to demolition. The property also had a basement which required backfilling once the demolition was complete with all bricks and concrete being crushed on site for future reuse. All waste was sorted on site and recycled where possible.

Wymondham, Norfolk

Project - Bulk Earthworks & Pile Mat

This project in Wymondham, Norfolk entailed the excavation of 9000m³ from a borrow pit, as well as 14,500m3 from on site stockpiles. The material was loaded and moved to a fill area to build up levels ready for the installation of the piling mat. All soil was laid and compacted in 250mm layers with CBR testing being carried out every 500mm. Once complete we installed a 3800m2 piling mat.

Project - Bulk Earthworks

L K Contracting excavated 13,000m3 of soil which was hauled and stockpiled on site. Precise batters were needed on all edges of the excavation ready for the groundworks team to begin construction of the basement for the new building.

Project - Excavation and Construction of Pile Mats

Over 3500m3 of soil was excavated from eight pile mats with all soil being removed from site. Geotextile was laid and 4500 tonnes of 6F5 was imported to complete the pile mats. We had strict deadlines to meet to ensure there were no delays for piling contractors with the works being completed a week earlier than the deadline.

Project - Site Clearance

This parcel of land had become overgrown with weeds brambles and scrub. L K Contracting were asked to attend site and flail all areas to enable surveyors access to complete their works.

"We appointed LK Construction to undertake full site clearance work to allow specialist surveyors to carry out their work in a safe manner.  Lloyd and his team were extremely conscientious and helpful and left the area in excellent condition.  They even mended the gate for us.  We will certainly use them again and happy to recommend them to others."
